Molded Plastic Zippers
Molded plastic zippers use individual plastic teeth molded onto the tape rather than a nylon coil or metal chain. They are lighter than metal, resist corrosion, and handle outdoor and marine use well. Zipper Shipper stocks molded plastic zippers as closed-end, separating (jacket), two-way, extra-long, and continuous chain.
#5 molded plastic is a common jacket and bag zipper. #8 and #10 are heavy-duty choices for coats, boats, tents, and industrial covers. Sliders must be made for molded plastic teeth — a coil or metal slider will not run correctly. Many colors, custom lengths, and wholesale price breaks are available.

Perfect double-sided slider for a reversible fleece. Replacement was surprisingly easy. You may also need to get a zipper stop since the one you remove may not be salvageable.

We had a heavy Beekeeper's suite with a broken front zipper. Fixing that zipper would be a major undertaking I was told. ZipperShipper's website to find the pieces needed, pliers to open the bottom of the zipper, inserting the new zipper and closing it with a new bottom stop anda small hammer was all it took to fix the suit.
