Zippers for Arthritic Hands
Fasteners can be challenging, particularly for those with arthritic conditions. We recommend choosing zippers with larger than average pulls that make gripping easier OR zippers with pulls that allow for the attachment of a fabric swatch, piece of leather or tab. On this page you'll find a selection of those types of zippers.
Medium-weight zippers (typically used on sweaters, medium-weight jackets or coats) typically use a #5, #7 or #8 zipper. Heavy duty jackets or coats will use a #8 or #10 zipper. Please note - the higher the gauge (size) of the zipper, the larger the pull.
