Aluminum Metal Zippers
Aluminum zippers are metal zippers with silver-colored zipper teeth. Aluminum is a lighter-weight metal than brass or nickel, so it is ideal for use when a metal zipper is desired that has relatively little weight to it. The gauge of the zipper tells you the size of the zipper teeth. #5 zippers have zipper teeth that measure 5 millimeters (roughly 1/4 inch) across when zipped. #10 is a bulkier zipper, which measures 10 milometers (1/2 inch) across the teeth when zipped.
