Description
Bottom stops are the metal components found toward the bottom end of a closed-bottom zipper. Bottom stops are only found on closed-end zippers. They are also known as "bottom stoppers." Bottom stops can also be used to convert separating zippers to closed-end zippers.
These bottom stops are 'x' shaped and are most commonly used on metal and molded plastic zippers. They are NOT meant to be used on nylon coil zippers.
#3 stops are recommended for #3 and #2 zippers.
Not sure which stop to get?
- Silver stops pair best with nickel and aluminum metal zippers. They also pair well with any color molded plastic zipper.
- Brass stops pair best with brass metal zippers and with molded plastic zippers with yellow hues (think yellow, gold zippers).
- Antique brass stops pair best with antique brass metal zippers and with molded plastic zippers with brown hues.
- Black stops pair best with black molded plastic zippers and any metal zipper with black tape.

Replacement zipper
I am repairing a back pack style shoulder bag zipper that keeps popping open in the middle. I can't find why it pops, as it meshes properly, and I can't pull it and make it pop. So I am just going to replace it before the contents of the bag fall out and get lost. This zipper appears to be as close a match to the original as I can expect to find, other than it separates, but I can sew the connection below the opening beginning.
