#5 Aluminum continuous zipper chain is made of medium-weight metal and features silver-colored teeth that measure approximately 5mm wide when zipped.

Zipper sliders sold separately. #5 metal sliders sold by Zipper Shipper® are compatible with this zipper chain.

Suitable for 1-way zippers only. You cannot make a 2-way zipper that opens from the middle from metal zipper chain. The sliders can only go in 1 direction. A 2-way zipper that opens from the middle can be constructed from nylon coil zipper chain or molded plastic zipper chain, available via the Zipper Chain By The Yard listings.

Zipper chain can only be used for closed-end zipper applications. Separating zippers (up to 30 ft) can be found via our Bottom Separating Zippers listings.

Please note on Ordering Zipper Chain - Zipper chain is sold by the yard. Enter the number of desired yards in the box below. A quantity of 1 = 1 yard. A quantity of 10 = 10 yards, etc. Zipper chain will come as 1 continuous zipper, regardless of yards ordered. A quantity of 10 yards, for example, will come as 10 yards of continuous zipper chain and not 10 pieces that are 1 yard each.

Zipper was very sturdy and what I needed. Perhaps since the customer is to install the slider it might be a good idea to mark the zipper tape with an arrow showing the direction to install the slider pull. I ended up calling a local upholsterer and she talked me through. Who knew that there was an up and down on a zipper! After several tries I finally got it on. the sewing was the shortest part of my project.

Zipper Graduate School

Love to sew and am skilled. Have never had to put a zipper slide on a zipper. Had to call an upholster friend for directions. Sent an email to the company and they sent me a tutorial link. It saved the day and my sanity. Tutorial info should be included with each order. I learned a whole lot and the most important lesson is not to do this again!

Just what was needed.

I needed an 9' zipper- when I found this product, zippers by the yard, I was a bit skeptical but I couldn't find what I wanted anywhere else so I went for it. I also got slider- if I hadn't been prompted by the company, I might have ignored that important step. All the zippers I'd bought in the past came with a slider already.
Order was promptly shipped. Installing the slider was a bit of a learning curve but not too onerous.
